You Be the Judge: Dancing with the Stars Latest “Situation”

01 Sep

Sorry, I guess I’ve become a little obsessed with a certain fist-pumping, ab revealing reality star that I used him in the title. Yet, I think it sums up this post, which I have been wanting to write ever since Dancing with the Stars listed the latest group to hit the dance floor. Here are the “celebrities,” along with their respective dance partners:

Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower
Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Margaret Cho and Louis van Amstel
Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
David Hasselhoff and Kym Johnson
Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas
Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer
Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas
Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya

I’ve gone to a few message boards and news sites, and it appears that a lot of people have decided that they won’t be tuning in this season. Granted, that happens every season, but it seems to be a little more prevalent now. So my question to you is this: Why are so many people turned off by the new cast? Are they not capable of surprising us with some good dancing? Or is it because it’s a little “reality” heavy and light on true “stars” (excluding Florence Henderson of course. Mrs. Brady is an icon after all.)

You Be The Judge!

Just a side note, I’m actually excited about this one. The reason: Margaret Cho! I just adore her. I’ve loved her forever, and cherish every moment when she is on Drop Dead Diva. So unlike the others, I will definitely be tuning in. Go Team Margaret!
