Looks like Fred has something more to scream about, but this time out of joy. Over 7.6 million viewers tuned in to watch Fred: The Movie, making it the number one children’s cable movie of the year. Just to let you know how big that is, the numbers are just about 100,000 viewers shy of the first High School Musical. It has also become the fifth most watched Nickelodeon telecast among tweens 9-14.
The DVD is set to release next week on October 5, and will also be available via digital download. Not only will fans be able to watch their favorite high-pitched 15-year-old search for Judy again, but they will be able to view some never-before-seen special features that include:
* A brand new Fred video
* Behind the scenes featurettes
* Audio commentary featuring actor and creator of Fred, Lucas Cruikshank
Fred originally began as a YouTube sensation, garnering over 570 million views and 1.9 million subscriptions to his YouTube channel (the second most-subcribed of all time).
