TV’s Best Moments: October 4th thru 9th

09 Oct

What a week in TV: smackdowns, both verbal and physical, sad departures, and a hot Britney performance not from Glee.

Best Physical Smackdown: Caroline and Mason – The Vampire Diaries

We knew Mason was up to no good searching for the Moonstone, and when he outed Stefan and Damon, it just solidified our suspicions. This made it only sweeter when Caroline, my new favorite character, decided to take him up on his offer to take him down, giving such a smackdown that we can only hope he learned his lesson. But we highly doubt it.

Best Verbal Smackdown: Tim Gunn – Project Runway

Ivy had never been quiet about her feelings for Michael C., and when she left, we thought it would be the end of it. However, this challenge brought in auf’d designers of the past, and Ivy came back with her obsessions in tact. She accused Michael C. of cheating, and even took it to the group and producers. As she gloated, our favorite fashion mentor entered the room, and silenced the situation. It was classic Tim Gunn, and further proves he is the best thing about the show, period.

Saddest Departure: Margaret Cho – Dancing With the Stars

Margaret Cho got off to a very start with a misguided comedic performance, but she did improve the following weeks. That is what makes her departure so sad, because it would have been nice to have seen her grow some more.

Hottest Britney Spears Performance – Mark Ballas and Val Chmerkovskiy – “Toxic” Duel

Sorry Glee, you’ve been one upped, the hottest Britney Spears performance is hands down Val and Mark with their rendition of Toxic. Dressed in all black and carrying a guitar and violin, the pair oozed sexiness as each passionately played before dancing a fiery routine. This time around, the audience reaction from the performance was justified, and did not leave an uneasy feeling in me. Watch it below via youtube.
