Top 10 TV Moments of 2010

As another wonderful year comes to a close and everyone busts out their top ten lists, I figured why not join the fun and create one of my own. It was a grueling process, but I was finally able to narrow down my ten favorite moments of the past year. Instead of just naming shows, I decided to combine characters, storylines, and anything else that caught my eye. Did any of your top moments make it? Well read on to find out.

My DVR Moment of the Week

Well, I never said my top moments were always going to be what was the best on T.V. Case in point: Kate Gosselin’s odd (and not in a good way) performance on this weeks Dancing With the Stars. The song choice (Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi)  was pure inspiration, since it’s a subject Kate faces on a daily basis, however she was just unable to channel that emotion into anything worth watching. She did get another week, so maybe she’ll finally get her act together. But I honestly doubt it.

Runner up: Never one to pass up an opportunity, Jimmy Fallon Parodies Kate’s dance.

Missed Moment:
Tina Fey brings back her Sarah Palin impersonation on SNL. I could kick myself for missing this.

Betty White Set to Host SNL May 8th

Get the DVR’s ready people, Betty White is set to host Saturday Night Live on May 8th in a special mother’s day episode, according to TVGuide.com. She will be joined by Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch (but unfortunately, no Cheri Oteri, any one know what’s happened to her?) in what I hope will be a knockout episode.

One thing I found interesting while reading the article is that White has been asked to host on three different occasions by Lorne Michaels, but refused. “It’s so New York, and I’m not New York at all,” White stated, “But my agent said he’d divorce me if I didn’t do it, and I love my agent.” I, for one, am glad she changed her mind.

In honor of this event, and to prepare, I have decided to share some clips I found of Betty White at her best. Enjoy!!!

One of My Favorite Golden Girls Scenes
Granted, it’s not exclusively White, but it shows just how well she can play a character, and how she makes a great ensemble player.

Betty White cofirms she will be on SNL

Sometimes dreams do come true. Betty White confirmed that she will be on SNL, but did not give any details as to when or if she will serve as host. According to the article I read, NBC has yet to issue a statement as well. I’m just happy that all the fans that joined the petition were heard!!!!

Betty White close to making a deal with Saturday Night Live

This just in from ew.com’s Michael Ausiello: Betty White is closer than ever to striking a deal to host SNL for the first time in a special “Women of Comedy” episode. Although no one has been confirmed yet, several actresses (such as Molly Shannon, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler) are being  named as possible co-hosts, which will allow the 88 year-old T.V. legend to host without having to carry the burden of the entire show all by herself. Come on Lorne, lets get this deal done already!!!!

Fey May Return as Palin on SNL?

Here’s a bit of interesting news from the Associated Press: You betcha: Fey’s SNL return as Palin is likely.

Although SNL has not made an official comment, since things could change at the last minute, this is definitely something to look forward to. Fey’s impersonation of Palin was a highlight of that season, and became an icon of the election. Besides, there is so much material now, with the book, her statement about Family Guy, and the incident with the notes on her hand, there is just no way that SNL could pass this up this opportunity. But then again, they have passed up a few before. Hopefully the McGruber movie isn’t taking up too much of their energy.

For those who have forgotten, here’s a repeat of the opening Fey did as Palin, with Amy Pohler as Hilary Clinton I found on hulu.com.

Betty White on SNL? My dream come true.

While reading through the TV News on Yahoo, I learned that there is a campaign to get Betty White (The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Boston Legal)to host Saturday Night Live. I, and about 335,000 fans, agree. My only concern is that they would not give her enough good material to show off her excellent comedic timing. But we can worry about that later, lets just make this happen. Check out the link below in order to become a fan and send a message to Lorne Michaels that we want to see Betty!!!
