Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino Worth 5 Million?

a five million dollar situation?

Talk about a profitable situation. The Hollywood Reporter states that Jersey Shore breakout star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is poised to make almost five million dollars this year.

“We are really excited about all the opportunities coming Mike’s way,” said Sorrentino’s manager, Mike Petolino of Gotham Entertainment. “He has been able to secure many endorsement deals, business opportunities and additional television offers based on the success of the show. Our goal has always been to try to build a brand if the situation presented itself.”

Among the deals and opportunities:

  • $60,000 an episode after bonus incentives, based on ratings, and event-appearance fees from $15,000-$50,000
  • an abs-focused fitness video “The Situation Workout”
  • a chewable-supplement line distributed in association with GNC
  • working with Gotham Books to pen his autobiography, “Here’s the Situation,” which a source said earned him a six-figure advance
  • further endorsements with Vitaminwater and Reebok and a deal for a clothing line with Dilligaf

Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino a Rap Star?

Well, he did say he was the reality king, why not take on the rap world.

TVGuide
reports Jersey Shore’s own Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has debuted his rap single, cleverly titled “The Situation Rap.” The tune will debut next week on iTunes, which is one month before the second season premiere of Jersey Shore.

The Situation is turning out to be a jack of all trades. Not only is the single coming out, he starred in a Vitamin Water ad with the Mets’ David Wright, was a correspondent on the Grammy’s red carpet, and is launching his own fragrance.

What do you think? Is this “Situation” going to last longer than fifteen minutes?

My DVR Moment of Last Week

Hands down, this weeks honor goes to The Good Wife and the fabulous Julianna Margulies. Her final scene with an appropriately creepy and excellent Dylan Baker, in which the notions of trust and appearance are called into question, left me with chills. There’s a reason why she keeps winning the recent string of awards folks, and if she has more scenes like that, Magulies could continue in the future.

Runner-up: Meg Returns Home on Family Guy

I don’t know if I could explain the sight of a totally different Meg walking into her home after spending three months in jail, so I’ll just let the video below do it for me. Viewer discretion is advised for some foul language.

Missed Moment: Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino at the Grammy’s. I tune in and out of this ceremony every so often, but I would have loved to have seen if he lived up to Reality King comment that was made a while back. Anyone know where I can find the video?

TVGuide Interview with Mike "the Situation" Sorrentino

Want to hear more for Jersey Shore’s “The Situation,” then check out this interview from TVGuide.

The title is a little misleading, but he does say that towards the end of the interview. In my opinion, it’s a little early to be declaring yourself on top, especially with the fickle reality audience that exists. The more exposure you get, the quicker people tire of you. My advice to Mike and the rest: take it slow. You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Jersey Shore renewed for a 2nd season

This should come as no surprise to anyone: “The Situation” and the rest of the guilty pleasure gang at Jersey Shore will be back for a second season. You can read more about it here at TVGuide.

I caught a few episodes, and although I know I shouldn’t admit it, I did enjoy them a bit. I felt dirty doing so, but it seemed like I was being transported to some sort of alternate universe, and it certainly made me forget my life for a bit. Hmmm, maybe I shouldn’t have admit that as well.
